Which Zafira you have

Zafira A (1999–2005) — now genuinely old. Expect corrosion, and expect the original key to be long gone.
Zafira B (2005–2014) — the big one. Sold in enormous numbers as a family car and most are on their third or fourth owner.
Zafira Tourer / C (2011–2019) — later number range, and shares a lot with the Astra J of the same period.

The family car problem

The Zafira is a seven-seat family car, which means two things for us. It's been sold on more times than most cars its age, and each handover is another chance for the little plastic case to not get passed on. And it spends its life full of children's things, so the boot has been emptied and repacked a hundred times.

That's why we say check the boot side compartments before anything else on a Zafira. Under the floor gets cleared out; the little cubby behind the trim panel almost never does.

Neighbouring numbers look identical

Vauxhall runs a tight numbered sequence and adjacent codes differ by fractions of a millimetre. On a Zafira B especially, a nearly-right key will seat, feel like it's gripping, and then round the nut the moment you put weight on the bar. That turns a £22 key into a £40–£85 removal job.

It's why we ask for the model and year alongside the photograph — not to identify the key, but to narrow the range enough to be certain.
