Why a photo is enough — no code required

The code printed on your original key card is just one way of recording the pattern — it isn't the pattern itself. The actual security lies in the physical arrangement of grooves and pins machined into the nut. That pattern is what a key is cut to fit, and it's what we match against directly. A code speeds things up if you have it, but it was never the only route to a correct match.

Why some keys are harder to match than others

Not all locking patterns are created equal. Three things make matching genuinely difficult:

• Worn patterns. Years of use round off the fine detail. A rushed match from a low-quality photo will miss this; a careful one accounts for wear and cross-checks against the vehicle's known pattern range for that era.
• Older or discontinued models. Manufacturers change their locking systems over production runs, sometimes more than once within the same model. Matching correctly means knowing which pattern generation applies to your specific year, not just your model name.
• Visually similar patterns across brands. Some manufacturers' patterns are close enough to catch out anyone matching on the photo alone without cross-referencing the vehicle. This is the single most common cause of a wrong-key mismatch industry-wide.

Our matching service covers the vast majority of makes and models beyond what's individually listed. Send a photo regardless and we'll confirm before you order.

What if you don't have my key?
We'll tell you straight away. We'd rather turn away an order than take payment for something we can't supply.

What if the key doesn't fit when it arrives?
We'll replace it free of charge, or refund you. Every key also carries a 12 month manufacturing warranty.

How fast will I get it?
We dispatch within 1 working day on next-day UK delivery, so you'll typically have it the following day.

How much does matching cost?
